Basic Practices

Craft is orthopraxic, not orthodoxic - so we start by doing, as a way of learning.

It is very difficult to teach anything worth knowing about magic, the Land or the Powers from a book - these are sensory experiences. So I wish to stress from the outset: you have to do the exercises to get anywhere. It’s easy to respond to simple tasks with “hmmm ok, what’s in the next webpage”, and find yourself reading the course instead of practicing it.

Fencraft is a way of walking; it is lived.

You can follow this course at whatever pace you please: ideally, one lesson per month, but no faster than one lesson per week (But don’t get bored & give up. I promise, the robes are coming!)

Overall advice: do not just read. Make sure you do the activities. But don't dwell too long. As they all interconnect, it is better to do the whole course briskly then repeat it, than staying on one topic. Depth comes with time.
